Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Federal authorities say a second man has pleaded guilty to charges related to illegal firearms sales and trafficking in Blair County.
According to court documents, Craig Zahradnik pleaded guilty to seven counts related to the possession, manufacturing and trafficking of illegal firearms, including "ghost guns."
Zahrdnik was one of three Blair County men charged earlier this year following an ATF investigation into the alleged crimes.
Pittsburgh Pirates top pitching prospect Paul Skenes was better than advertised in his second major league start on Friday.
Once again facing off against the Chicago Cubs, this time in Wrigley, Skenes struck out the first seven batters he faced and threw six no-hit innings en route to his first MLB victory.
He finished the afternoon throwing 100 total pitches, and striking out 11 total batters.
Skenes' only blemish was a 5th inning walk to first-baseman Michael Busch.
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker TJ Watt etched his name into the record books Monday night, becoming the franchise's all-time sacks leader.
Watt's record-breaking play came in the second quarter as he brought down Cleveland Browns' quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Watt surpassed former Steelers' outside linebacker James Harrison on the all-time team sacks list, as he now holds the record with 81.5 career sacks.
Harrison was reportedly in attendance Monday night and told reporters that he wanted to see Watt break the record.
WJAC — $37.4 million announced for increased access to broadband internet in our region. This according to local lawmakers, and the Pennsylvania broadband development authority.
Lawmakers say the move is currently in the early stages of supplemental funding from the U.S. Department of treasury, (or P.B.D.A.).
State senator Wayne Langerholc says the usage of internet is becoming more essential, as time passes.
Langerholc tells me this will also allow for more competition to help fill the gaps in broadband internet access for rural areas.
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — The new CenClear Bellefonte location is now open.
Officials held a ribbon-cutting Thursday afternoon.
CenClear offers outpatient behavioral health and medicine management, as well as a new service.
"We have what's called a decision support center, so this is a new model developed by Pat Deegan and her associates, through which we will use a peer to meet with folks prior to their medication management appointment to help them develop statements of power and review what they know their needs are.
