WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Bette Nash flew for almost 67 years, joining Eastern Airlines back in 1957, when flights cost $12 and required no reservations.
Her role at Eastern eventually brought her to American Airlines after American acquired some of Eastern's assets in 1990.
Nash, who lived in Manassas, Virginia, and was based at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, was a mainstay for decades on flights from DCA to Boston and New York, routes she chose to be able to be home every night in order to take care of her son who has Down syndrome.
