Former Pittsburgh Pirate Michael McKenry, wife join ownership group of Johnstown Mill Rats

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — The Johnstown Mill Rats announced Friday that former Pittsburgh Pirates' catcher Michael McKenry and his wife, Jaclyn, have joined the ownership group of the team. The future of the team was left "up in the air" last fall after the Prospect League reportedly removed the Mill Rats from its website. In November, the team's management dispelled the uncertainty by stating that the organization planned to stay in Johnstown, as part of the Prospect League, with new ownership.

One person injured after tractor-trailer crashes into St Marys metal company building

UPDATE | Elk County, PA (WJAC) — Elk County 911 officials confirmed that one person was injured Wednesday afternoon when a tractor-trailer crashed into the Keystone Powdered Metal Company building, located along Route 120, in Saint Marys. Officials say crews were dispatched to the crash just after 1 p.m., which prompted the roadway to be temporarily shut down. According to PennDOT's 511PA alert page, Route 120 has since been reopened, however, there are still lane restrictions in place as some crews remain on scene.

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Altoona Police Department have charged a local man after he was accused of inappropriately filming a young child over the weekend. According to the affidavit, police say 24-year-old Nasir Garner had reportedly visited an apartment, located along East Walnut Avenue, on Sunday to do laundry. Police say while he was visiting, Garner reportedly began playing hide-and-seek with the two young children, ages 3 and 5, who live at the residence.

Johnstown teen says he 'transformed' into Michael Myers before stabbing woman at random

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County have released new details about the investigation into last week's stabbing in downtown Johnstown that sent one person to the hospital. On Friday, police charged 16-year-old Damond Maher with felony aggravated assault, and other related charges, after he was accused of stabbing a woman on Somerset Street Thursday evening. According to the affidavit, police say officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a woman who had been stabbed by an individual who was wearing a mask.
