Former Steelers WR Martavis Bryant signs free agent deal with Cowboys after NFL reinstatement

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide-receiver Martavis Bryant is returning to the NFL after being suspended from the league for nearly five years. Reports indicate that he is signing a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Bryant was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2014 out of Clemson University. In 2016, Bryant was suspended by the NFL for reportedly violating the league's substance abuse policy. He was reinstated in 2017 and finished the year with 50 catches, for over 600 yards and three touchdowns.

History made as Pennsylvania has new record buck

HARRISBURG - History was made in the state once again this year. On Thursday at the Pennsylvania Game Commission headquarters, officials said a trophy whitetail rack shattered the previous record in the Typical Archery category in state records. Ron Shaulis, of West Newton, Pennsylvania, harvested the trophy buck on Oct. 24 with a compound bow on public land in Westmoreland County. The rack had a net score of 185-4/8, which surpasses the previous record of 178-2/8 from a buck harvested in Allegheny County in 2004.

Parent charged with child rape accused of holding naked child at gunpoint in basement

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Police have arrested a Washington state man for allegedly sexually abusing his child in Lancaster County, and officials are still searching for a second suspect, the mother of the child. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, police took 56-year-old John Dehart into custody on April 18 in Philadelphia on charges related to the sexual assault of his child. Police are also searching for the child's mother, 34-year-old Sarah Miller, also on charges related to the rape of a child.

McCort/Bishop Carroll welcome the challenge of this year's co-op

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — The future of Bishop Carroll football was questioned when the number of student turnout began to dwindle, but Bishop McCort had the answer: to join forces. The two catholic programs will compete in the LHAC under the leadership of Tom Smith, who took over last year during a pandemic season for the Crushers. Smith said this season is more conventional than last year but is still somewhat unconventional because of the union.
