Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that former, 2-time Super Bowl champion running-back Sidney Thornton has passed away at age 68.
Thornton was drafted by Pittsburgh in 1977 and was part of the franchise's Super Bowl teams in 1979 and 1980.
Thornton spent six years in the NFL, all with the Steelers, rushing for over 1,500 yards in his career.
He also tallied 24 combined touchdowns in his career.
CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — In Centre County, restoration work continues at a historic church that still draws attention, even though the last regular service there was nearly 100 years ago.
In a small cemetery next to Egg Hill Church, one of the gravestones is for a revolutionary war veteran.
The church was first built in the 1830's, was rebuilt in 1860 and got its name because it sits on a remote, Potter Township hill that the locals thought was egg shaped.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — John Hillerman, who played stuffed-shirt Higgins to Tom Selleck's freewheeling detective Thomas Magnum in the 1980s TV series "Magnum, P.I." has died, his nephew said Thursday. Hillerman was 84.
Hillerman, who had been in declining health, died Thursday at his home in Houston, nephew Chris Tritico said. The cause of death was not immediately known, he said.

TYRONE, Pa. (WJAC) -- The cleanup has begun at a garden center in Huntingdon County that caught fire Tuesday night.
Flames engulfed two buildings at Martin's Garden Center, which sits several miles outside Tyrone.
No one was injured, but it's a terrible loss for the business.

CHESTER, Pa. (TND) — A man who went to his workplace and went on a shooting rampage was identified Thursday. Wilbert Rosado-Ruiz is being charged with two counts of first degree homicide, multiple counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and a firearms charge, said Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer who describe the shooting as a "horrible tragedy."
The prosecutor claimed that there had been complaints filed about the murder suspect to the owner of Delaware County Linen where five people were shot and two died.
