PHILADELPHIA (WJAC) — Authorities say a Philadelphia officer was shot and killed while serving a warrant on a suspect wanted for homicide. City police say 46-year-old Cpl. James O’Connor was serving the warrant early Friday morning at a home along Bridge Street when someone opened fire through a closed door on the second floor. According to NBC affiliate WCAU, O'Connor was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died. WCAU reports another SWAT officer returned fire, striking two people.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The West Hempfield Township Police department is investigating after a child was killed during a farming accident in Lancaster County. According to police, officers arrived to a farm to find a 4-year-old boy who had been severely injured. Investigations revealed that a youth farm helper was moving large bales of hay to a barn on the property. The helper didn't see the child when moving the equipment, and struck them.
