CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (TND) — Harvard University alumni are speaking out after researchers Christopher Rufo and Christopher Brunet revealed school president Claudine Gay may have plagiarized her doctoral dissertation.
In a report released Sunday, Rufo and Brunet detailed accusations that Gay lifted entire sections of text from other academics to pad her own paper. This dissertation was then submitted to Harvard for review in 1997, allowing Gay to obtain her Doctor of Psychology degree and eventually become the school’s leading administrator.
Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Huntingdon County have filed charges against a Robertsdale man following an investigation into an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Orbisonia over five years ago.
Troopers say on March 19, 2018, police were dispatched to the Martin's General Store, located along Ridgley Street, for a report of an attempted robbery.

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Altoona Police Department made an arrest Monday near Westfall Park and Cemetery.
According to police, Christopher Helsel was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of law, public drunkenness, and others.
Around 1:30 a.m., an APD officer was on patrol and saw three vehicles near the wood line at the top of the cemetery, police said.
Since the park and cemetery closed at dusk, the officer attempted to make contact when Helsel, seeming anxious and agitated, walked out of the woods, officials said.
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — For the first time, officials at the Humane Society of Somerset County say they are currently not taking in any more animals.
This is due to what they call “an alarming rise in animals coming through the door.”
They say the issue is made worse by low staffing which makes it difficult to care for the animals.

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WOLF) — A vandal reportedly broke into a mink farm in Pennsylvania, setting thousands of mink loose in the area.
State Police said Richard H. Stahl Sons in Rockefeller Township was vandalized sometime between midnight and 6:50 a.m. on Sunday.
It was reported that an unknown person cut holes in the fence surrounding the mink farm, releasing approximately 6,000 to 8,000 mink from their pens.
Numerous state agencies and farm staff are currently working on recovering the mink that escaped the fence, troopers said.
