State police say a State College man is facing homicide by vehicle charges for a DUI crash last summer on Route 322 in Centre County.

Alexander Hynoski, 19, was arraigned on charges Monday afternoon related to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and unsafe driving.

The crash happened in August at the intersection of Mountain Back Road when troopers say Hynoski ran a stop sign and his Subaru crashed into a FedEx truck.

They say 20-year-old Elizabeth Biddle, who was riding with Hynoski, died in the crash.

When interviewing Hynoski, troopers say he smelled of alcohol and admitted he had been drinking at a house party.

Investigators reconstructed the crash and say they found speed and alcohol were factors.

Hynoski has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 18.
