UPDATE |

Martinsburg Fire Chief Randy Acker says a contractor was killed Tuesday afternoon in a fire at a Blair County business.

Chief Acker says multiple area fire departments were dispatched to the blaze, located at the Bobcat at Martinsburg dealership, around noon.

Officials say the fire spread from outside the building to the roof of the business, resulting in a partial collapse.

Fire officials say windy conditions and the proximity of nearby hydrants made it difficult for crews to extinguish the blaze.

Chief Acker, who reportedly owns the building that the business operates out of, says that the contractor was reportedly installing a natural gas boiler inside the building when the fire began.

Authorities say a state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire and the Blair County coroner's office is investigating the contractor's death.

Officials have not yet identified the contractor.

The fire prompted a section of Cove Mountain Road, in North Woodbury Township, to be closed for several hours.
