4-year-old killed during farming accident in Lancaster County: police

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) The West Hempfield Township Police department is investigating after a child was killed during a farming accident in Lancaster County. According to police, officers arrived to a farm to find a 4-year-old boy who had been severely injured.

According to police, officers arrived to a farm to find a 4-year-old boy who had been severely injured.

Investigations revealed that a youth farm helper was moving large bales of hay to a barn on the property. The helper didn't see the child when moving the equipment, and struck them.

The child was taken to a local hospital, but did not survive their injuries.

A police investigation is still on-going between West Hempfield Township Police, Coroner officials and the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
