Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Most people know about physical therapy for a broken arm or a bad back, but you might not have heard of physical therapy for your "pelvic floor."
It's called "pelvic physical therapy" and there's a new practice for it in the Johnstown area.
Delsignore Core & Pelvic Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Monday at its facility along Goucher Street.
It's a place where both men and women can come to address their pelvic health related concerns, from urinary leakage and pain with intercourse, to post-prostate surgery and post-partum care.
Owner Sara Delsignore says there is a "huge need" for this in our area.
"So many people don't even know that these symptoms aren't normal. Having that opportunity to walk alongside patients as they learn that -- not only can there be help for their symptoms -- but it can actually just improve everyday life."
To make an appointment, you can call the office directly or ask your doctor for a referral for "pelvic physical therapy."
