PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to a recent "10Best" poll from USA Today, Kennywood Park's "Phantom's Revenge" has been voted the second best roller coaster in the country.
The Phantom's Revenge includes a 230-foot drop, and a top speed of 85 mph, as it passes "frighteningly" close to its another Kennywood icon: the Thunderbolt.
Phantom's Revenge finished second in the online voting to the "Mako," located at SeaWorld Orlando, but Kennywood boasted online that the runner-up finish was still a "worthy honor for a legendary ride."
The coaster originally opened in 1991 under the name of the "Steel Phantom," before being remodeled and rebranded in 2001, according to Kennywood's website.
