PENN RUN, Pa. (WJAC) — An Indiana County family is speaking out after they say a custom-made cross was stolen from the fatal crash site of a teen girl.
Kim Keith says her 14-year-old niece, Brittany Keith, was killed in a crash along Route 553 in Penn Run last year as the family was heading to do some Christmas shopping.
Brittany died Dec. 23, just 12 days before her fifteenth birthday, her family says.
Keith says the family had a special pink cross, made from horseshoes, constructed to place at the crash site where Brittany lost her life.
Now, the family says someone stole the cross and they just want to see it returned to the site.
“It’s just really upsetting that someone could just take it,” Keith told 6 News. “That is the lowest anyone could possibly go on taking a cross off of a site.”
The family says they believe someone, somewhere must know where the cross is and they would just like to see it returned.
